I was born and raised in this area. I am married and my favorite hobby is to spend time with my 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Growing up my parents belonged to a UCC church about 10 miles away from our home; however I enjoyed taking the short walk up the street to attend the EUB church in East Texas. This is where I spent most of my pre-teen and teenage years. We had a very active and close knit youth group. Of course as I got into my high school years, graduated and moved out of the area for a year or two, I fell away from this little church. Then my first daughter was born. By the time she was 2 years old I had this need to have her learn about Jesus. The little church in East Texas had since been turned into a house, what was I going to do? I went searching and came upon Bethany. Little did I know that the little church in East Texas joined two other small churches and they became Bethany. Back at home at last!
When my youngest child turned 4, I decided to return to the work field. For the next 23 years I worked for Lehigh Valley Hospital. During those 23 years I became more involved in Bethany. For 7 years I served as Chair of Trustees and became very active in the technical side of worship. In 2008, what I thought was boredom with my job at LVH, turned out to be the Lord trying to take me on a new adventure. I was offered the position of Office Manager at Bethany, I had every excuse known for why I should not or could not accept this position. The Lord had a different plan. Every day I would go to work at LVH and be thinking of different ways that I might be able to help the staff to make the work flow easier. This went on for about 2 months before I finally realized this is what God wanted me to do and I needed to follow Proverbs 3:5-6. My human side was very terrified but my spiritual side knew it was the right thing to do.
