Fantastic Fives
April Newsletter

Happy Easter! Happy Spring! Though we may feel a little soggy at the moment, these showers should soon produce many beautiful flowers! As our days get warmer, we hope to go outside more often, so make sure you send your child to school ready to explore the outdoors. Thanks.

In April, we will finish our alphabet writing practice books, but we will continue to work on activities that give the children opportunities to practice writing and identifying letters. We continue to work on number recognition, and correctly matching objects with numbers. We will be writing numbers up to 20 this month.

We are finishing one Bible verse this week, and will have a new one next week, which reminds us of what Easter is all about. It is Luke 24:5,6, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!" It is a fun verse to learn.

Our Bible stories for April will be about Doubting Thomas, the Good Samaritan, and we will be talking more about how Jesus appeared to many people after His death, and how He sent us the Holy Spirit. We will be learning a "mystery" Bible verse in April, with the help of our Spanish teacher. Not a mystery for long, though. You will be hearing it on May 14th!

Our calendar reminds us that May is quickly approaching, and with it the end of our year with our Fantastic Fives. This year has passed so quickly; it has been an incredible experience getting to know each of your precious children. Please add our Closing Program date to your calendar, which is May 14th at 7:00 p.m. We will have our program in the Sanctuary, with refreshments following as we did at Christmas. When it is posted, please check our sign up sheet to let us know how many people will be attending, and please sign-up to contribute to this celebration if you are able. We thank you in advance for your willingness to contribute to this event. This group of Fantastic Five Parents has been wonderful about bringing in snacks, and your generosity has been appreciated by all, students as well as teachers. J

Don't forget to mark your calendars for May 15th at noon. Look for a sign-up sheet by the middle of April. We will enjoy an afternoon visiting Lone Lane Park to play, followed by a trip to Parma Pizza to make and eat our own pizzas. More details will follow. We are hoping everyone can join us for this fun and delicious afternoon.

As you can see, we will be having a busy April! Enjoy your long weekend this week, and have a wonderful and blessed Easter.
