Four's Green Class News! For Sept/Oct Snack Menu Click Here 4's News! Dear Parents, It's been another great month in the 4's class. The children are now
very comfortable in our classroom routine. We are still working hard on
allowing the children to show their independence as much as possible.
We are encouraging the children to put on their own coats and zip them
up. You should see the excitement in their eyes when they succeed for
the first time. November is an exceptionally busy month for our preschool class. Please note all the special activities that will take place this month. Many of our activities will center around our discussions of the First Thanksgiving. Our monthly Bible scripture is "Give Thanks to God and Praise his Name" Psalm 100:4b. We will talk about all the wonderful gifts God gave to us(food, home, family). To enhance our discussion of the gift of family we will need your help. You will be given a piece of paper on Monday, November 3rd. Please decorate the paper with a picture or pictures of your family and any other decorations you wish to add. We will be making a family wall quilt with the papers so the children to tell about their family. Please make sure you put your family name on the paper(example: The Mangahas Family). Be creative. Please return the papers to school on Monday, November 10th. Thanks for your help. During table time we will be counting objects 1-20 and continue to work on recognizing the numbers 1-10. Please continue to reinforce these concepts at home. In addition to our number study, we will continue with our weekly letter. This month will include the letters C-F. Continue to follow the days on the Alphabet study schedule. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to me after school or call me at home. Picture day is Thursday, November 6th. All children will be photographed for the class photo regardless if you intend to purchase photos. If you wish to purchase a photo package, please send the envelope with your payment before or on the day of the picture. Also on Thursday, November 13th from 6:30-7:30pm is Father's Night at Preschool. This is quite an exciting night for the children. This is a great opportunity to show off what they've learned so far at preschool. Please sign-up on the sheet in the hallway. Don't forget those boxes for the Samaritan's purse. I shared a sample with the students last week. We talked about the importance of giving to others. This is a great activity to do with your children right before the holidays. The boxes are due on November 6th. If you need a new form please let me know.
On Monday, November 17th we will be going on a field trip to Poole Wildlife Conservatory for the "Preschool Pilgrims" program from 9:30-11am. The trip is $6 per student and $3 per parent(not required to go). Due to the nature of the activities at the program, I ask that siblings are not brought to the trip. Because of the Pennsylvania car seat laws, each parent is responsible for the transportation of their child to and from the trip. If your child will attend the trip, please sign up on the cork strip and give the money to me before the day of the trip. On Monday, November 24th we will be having our Thanksgiving Feast in Carlson Hall. The class will prepare the majority of the food and eat a Thanksgiving meal as a class. We will be making some special desserts to share with the parents. You are invited to join us at 11 am for some child-made dessert and a few songs. If you would like to help out by donating supplies, please sign up on the cork strip. Thanks so much. If you have any questions about any of these announcements, please don't hesitate to ask.
