Bethany Veteran Build Project – Save the Date September 29 starting at 7:00 a.m. meet at the Macungie Campus. We are partnering with Battle Borne and Keystone Consulting to build a ramp for a disabled Vietnam veteran here in Macungie. This project will be built to code with Keystone Consulting as the project manager. Everyone will be served a catered lunch from Mission Barbeques. What can YOU do? Weslyan Covenant Association The 2018 Global Gathering of the Weslyan Covenant Association simulcast will be held on Saturday, November 3, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wescosvill Campus. $50 includes breakfast, refreshments and lunch. In the midst of great uncertainty the WCA invites you to stand unashamed for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Babysitting/Childcare Needs If you are a member of Bethany or a friend of Bethany and are looking for a Babysitter/Childcare provider, please call the church office for a list of eligible sitters.
Babysitting/Childcare List If you are interested in providing babysitting or childcare services to children of Bethany’s members and friends, please contact the church office to receive a form to be filled out before being placed on the list. You must be 12 years of age or older and have taken the PA Safe Sitter Course or a comparable training class. The amount paid by the family is between you and the family.

Grace Café / Hospitality Donations are needed for Saturday and Sunday Fellowship time. We would like to try to get some healthy snacks: Animal Crackers, Pretzels, Cheese, Fruit, Carrots and Celery. Additional volunteers are needed for Hospitality/Grace Cafe on Saturdays 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sundays 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for cleanup.

AWANA Awana starts September 26 on Wednesdays from 6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. at the Wescosville Campus. Children ages 2 through 5th grade will learn about God’s love, memorize scriptures and play amazing games. $50 registration fee per child per year. Trunk R Treat October 24, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. families will trick or treat at the MACUNGIE CAMPUS parking lot. Wednesday Nights—Beginning September 26
Wednesday Nights Bethany’s brand new Wednesday Family Night format starts on September 26. Here’s how it works: Bring the whole family to the Wescosville Campus anytime between 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for a free chef-prepared meal. We’ll eat together and then split up by age: 2 years old – 5th grade head off to AWANA, 6th grade – 12th grade go to the Youth Group meeting, and everybody else heads up to the sanctuary for interactive discipleship bible study to equip disciples to know, defend and share their faith. Then, we’ll ALL meet up again to end with family prayer at 7:45 p.m. This is for the whole family. And, if you’re single or don’t have kids, you’re still part of our church family. Join us starting September 26.

Parent & Youth Retreat As part of our goal of working with youth and their families, we have partnered with Camp Joyel in the Harrisburg area for two great retreats geared towards parents and youth building family bonds and bonds of faith. The retreats are for all ages, 1st grade—12th grade.

Father/Son Retreat: November 9-11, 2018
Registration cards are at the Youth Booth, Macungie Campus. All registrations go through Camp Joyel. Base cost is $151 per parent/child with other options available. Financial aid is available through Camp Joyel. Be sure to note which church you are with at time of registration. Enjoy this new adventure as a time that fills your family with even more of God’s Spirit.
Small Groups Combined JR. High & SR. High small groups meet together on Wednesdays at the Wescosville Campus. Small groups split after food, fun, games, and in-depth Bible studies. We will continue to meet 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. until September 26 at which time we will meet 6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
Men’s Breakfast Join us on Saturday, October 20 at 8:00 a.m. at the Wescosville campus for our Men’s Breakfast to hear Pastor Dave Alderson speak on the topic Fishers of Men. There is a $5 charge to help with the cost of the breakfast. After the meal there will be fun activities focused on building friendships and having something physical to do.

Women’s Retreat The Women’s Ministry is hosting a women’s retreat on October 26 – 28 located at Bear Creek Camp in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Join us for a weekend of prayer, teachings, worship, fellowship and fun. It costs $25 to reserve your place. The total cost for the weekend is $125. Purls: Join this group of ladies on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio, as they stitch prayer shawls, lap robes and baby blankets for those in need. All stitched items are prayed over before giving them to the recipient. Shawls and lap robes are also donated to various nursing homes. This month, they will also be stitching winter hats, mittens and scarves for children in Allentown. ALL knitters, loomers, crochet stitchers or want-to-be stitchers are welcome to come at any time. Book of James Bible Study This co-ed bible study meets every Thursday from September 13—December 13, with no study on November 22. We will use Right Now Media and study The Book of James by Francis Chan. The book speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who’ve faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.
Celebrate Recovery Celebrate Recovery meets EVERY Thursday from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. For anyone over 18 dealing with hurts, habits or hang-ups; not just addictions. We have found, through Christ, healing can be found. Child care is available!

Food Pantry and Allentown Children’s Project Donate non-perishable food items for our pantry and ACP. WE ARE IN NEED of the following items for the emergency food bags for people that come in off the street: Canned Chicken, Canned Ham, Applesauce Snack Packs, Pudding Snack Packs, Soup, Canned or Plastic Jar Pasta Sauce, Raisin Snack Packs, and Jelly. WE CAN NOT ACCEPT BABY FOOD. Please no expired items. The school year has begun and we have started filling 28 bags each week to give to school children in need. Please consider helping these families.
