Chili Cook-Off A weekend with no FOOTBALL!? We have you covered. Sunday, January 27 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The 6th annual Bethany Chili Cook-Off features 2 divisions. A children’s dessert division in Carlson Hall and an adult chili division in Fellowship Hall. Great prizes for the top 3 in both! This event is free and open to the public, so your friends can come and enter! Please register with a name, theme, and photo to promote your chili to Scotty and he will make a poster! Point-in-Time Count Training Become a trained volunteer to collect data on sheltered and unsheltered people who are experiencing homelessness. Training will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Located at CACLV’s Forte Building at 1337 East Fifth Street, Bethlehem in the first floor Community Room. This training is mandatory to volunteer at The Point-in-Time Count which will take place the night of Wednesday, January 23 and during the day of Thursday, January 24.
New Members Class Are you interested in becoming a member of Bethany Church? The new member class is to ensure you understand the church’s doctrine, how it governs and most importantly how to become a vibrant disciple. There are two options; Sundays, beginning January 27 at 8:00 a.m. at Macungie or Tuesdays, beginning on January 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Wescosville. This is a 6-week course led by Scotty Coyle. MOPS/MOMSnext This is a special ministry for all moms. Come join us for a cup of coffee, delicious breakfast and grow in friendships and faith. Every 2nd and 4th Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Macungie. MOPS is also in need of a Coordinator for the children of our MOPS moms. Purls: Join this group of ladies on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio, as they stitch prayer shawls, lap robes and baby blankets for those in need. All stitched items are prayed over before giving them to the recipient. Shawls and lap robes are also donated to various nursing homes. This month, they will also be stitching winter hats, mittens and scarves for children in Allentown. ALL knitters, loomers, crochet stitchers or want-to-be stitchers are welcome to come at any time. Operation Christmas Child Thank you church family for your support of this ministry. We packed 1,843 shoebox gifts at the packing party and 247 shoeboxes were packed by Bethany individuals and family bringing our church’s total to 2,090. Please pray for the children who will receive these boxes and that God’s love will be felt by their whole community!
Twice Blessed was blessed many times over by all of you and your most generous donations. We are saddened to have to close, but were not approved by the zoning board, and can not find another location. Our only hope is that people have seen Jesus in this ministry, and have been touched as much as we have for the past 14 years. God Bless all of you for your continued support of this ministry.
